I grew up in New Mexico and have always enjoyed the many outdoor activities the southwest has to offer. Like other fans of skiing, I learned early that snow pack is a make-or-break deal. Being able to understand the connection between our water resources and our everyday lives at a young age was important for developing my sense of water stewardship. Living in Phoenix during the current drought brought this into even greater focus for me and guided me towards being a water educator.

As a young adult I worked in the hotel industry but longed for something that would make a greater impact. I received a Bachelors of Science degree in Biology from the University of New Mexico and was drawn toward the field of science education. After living in China with my family for two years and observing an extremely threatened environment, environmental education became more of a focal point for me. Moving to Phoenix I wanted to work with my local community on environmental issues and became involved in Project WET in 2013, first as a volunteer and then as a community coordinator. For the last three years I have been coordinating Arizona Water Festivals and love the interaction with teachers, students, and members of the community. With water being such a critical part of our environment, I've found that educating the next generation of water stewards with Arizona Project WET is the place I need to be.
